Coping with new subjects ;
During Primary school, we only had 4 main subjects. Maths, Science, and English and Chinese. Upon entering Secondary school, we have 4 more subjects to learn: Literature, History, Geography and Home Economics.
Things seemed tough for us then, if we can barely juggle 4 subjects, how can we manage to do well with another 4 subjects?
The answer is to keep track on what teacher is teaching currently. After a chapter taught, revise, revise and revise. Also, question if there's doubt, no one learns if they keep quiet. Though revising is an important thing to do, we can never have too much of a good thing. Stress is a key factor here. Stress adds on to pressure, and what we learn from Science, materials will break if too much pressure is applied. This is the same for us humans. We have to have a balanced studies and games. If not, overtime, we would freak out.
i think we coped pretty well for our 4 new subjects, along with other subjects, none of us failed and we can see a slight improvement in our grades as the common test shows. If we can keep this up, i believe we can strive to be the queens of the crop and do well in academic studies.

Balancing CCA and studies ;
Everyone needs a Co-curriculum activity in secondary life. Not only a CCA will help you in your grade after graduating from secondary school, you also get to learn new things and perhaps find your talent. There are many CCAs to choose from, and also many categories, like Performing Arts, Sports and Recreations, Uniformed Groups, etc. CCA can be tough especially when there is a performance or competition coming soon. More practices are required and training will be more strenuous. But this doesn't mean we should neglect our studies as it is as important as CCAs.
Ningxin and Xiao han: We are currently in Chinese Orchestra, and we think we can balance our studies well enough with our CCA. Though the next major competition will be in two years time, it doesn't mean we can 'slack' during practices. There will be other performances too, like End-of-Year Concert, which we would be participating in. We cannot possibly neglect our studies for just SYF and concerts, thus we will need to allocate enough time each for both CCA and studies. Remember, PLAN TO FAIL, IF YOU FAIL TO PLAN.
With a schedule, We can achieve our targets set for the CCA, and our academic studies too.

School Activities that we have enjoyed;
We have been through alot since the starting of the school year, and it has been 8 months since we first enrolled in Ngee ann. We experienced many sweet and bitter experiences, all which seemed nostalgic to me now.
One of my our favourites is the Fifteen Hour Challenge. Though we had to stay in school for fifteen hours, we had contributed to the society. This proves that we can be the Pride of the Community, and the Icon of Excellence.
The challenge we did was to draw a bird's eye view of Singapore, and in it, we must fill the space up with "ngee ann secondary school" in 4 main languages. some also had to go around and collect birthday wishes from everyone in the school. This tested our perseverance and determination, which has paid off at the end of the 15 hours.
It was a tiring day, but we felt pretty happy as everyone had achieved their goals, and Ngee Ann had broke Singapore's records for folding most Masu Boxes and paper cranes. This is an accomplishment for Ngee ann and her students. We believe the school must have been proud of us and this proves that nothing is impossible.
Through this challenge, we finally understood the true meaning of Friendship and Co-operation. Both are important key factors in fostering new friendships and group work.
We hoped you would take our advices!
